ResponsibilityWHEN YOU POST A VERIFIED, VERIFY IT FIRST!
Otherwise, you're posting an oxymoron (non-verified verified) instead of a verified.
Also, many people don't understand the responsibility of posting a verified. IMHO, that is by far the main reason why eDonkey has gone so far in hashing while FastTrack is only beginning.
So, here are some basic rules for posting a vefiried hash as a new topic:
- You have to have this file on your computer, just knowing that it's real is not enough.
- The file must be exactly what you say it is.
- The file(s) you posted as verified should be on top of your uploads. If they aren't, unshare any files that are commonly uploaded except ones you posted as verifieds for at least a week, so that people can download what you offer in the forum.
- Do not post verifieds to things that are freely available on websites (like freeware, legal shareware, etc.). Instead, you can just link to the site.
- Your hashes must be either quicklinks or full form (as is understood by Sig2Dat / K-Sig), so if you post a quicklink, don't forget the dohtml tag.
- You must take full responsibility of the files you're posting, so, if someone says it doesn't work, you do your best to help them.
Rules 1, 3, and 4 do not apply to posting hashes when answering requests.
Some people simply don't realize that in order for this system to be successful (people post hashes on a forum for others to download), the community which you're posting the hashes for must be able to download the file.
About Sig2Dat hashesThis tool can be used to create a "hash" from a file which you can share with other people. A hash is an almost unique fingerprint of a file. With that hash other people can download the exact same file as where you created the hash from.
A QuickLink is a hash in the form of a hyperlink. It uses it own protocol (sig2dat:///) to be able to send a hash to a program when you click on the hyperlink. Similar to the protocol (http://) that is used to open webpages in your webbrowser.
There are several different programs that can create and use these hashes. The first one was Sig2Dat, that is why we call these hashes Sig2Dat hashes. The latest version of Kazaa Lite contains a similar program called K-Sig. K-Sig has some extra options compared to the old Sig2Dat program.
Below you will find some simple guides for creating and using Sig2Dat hashes. Both for the Sig2Dat program and for the K-Sig program.
How to use Sig2Dat to download files (hash)A Sig2Dat hash looks like this for example:
File: Friends - 101 - Pilot.avi

To download this file, do the following:
- Start Sig2Dat.
- Select the whole hash (all three lines!) and copy it.
- In Sig2Dat click on "Paste from Clipboard" in the top menu.
- If you did it correctly, then a .dat file should have been created by Sig2Dat.
- Restart Kazaa Lite to make the file show up in the Traffic window of Kazaa Lite.
How to use Sig2Dat to download files (quicklink)A Sig2Dat quicklink looks like this for example:

How to use Sig2Dat to create a hash/quicklink to place on this forum- Start Sig2Dat..
- Click on "Signature Calculation."
- Select "normal style."
- Click on "Select File(s) for Calculation". Select the files and click on "Open."
or
- Drag and drop the files into the big white area of the window.
- The data will show up in the big white area of the window. Select them all (use Ctrl key and click on them).
- Click on "Copy Selection to Clipboard."
- Go to the forum and create a new topic. Please use a subject that describes the contents of your post.
- Paste (press CTRL+V) the data into the message area of the topic you created.
- You should see something like this:

To download this file, do the following:
- Select the whole hash (all three lines!) and copy it.
- Start K-Sig.
- In the menu click on "File" and select "Paste From Clipboard."

- Start -Sig.
- In the menu click on "File" and select "Enter Hash Manually."
- Fill in the values supplied in the hash. Filesize must be the size in Bytes. UUHash must be everything behind UUHash:. In the example above it would be =S8hsFRuHtrQFq58jEhj+ofMudZI=
- If you did it correctly, then a .dat file should have been created by K-Sig.
- Restart Kazaa Lite to make the file show up in the Traffic window of Kazaa Lite.
Note: K-Sig also has an option to send the hash directly to Kazaa Lite. See File > Program Options > "Open QuickLinks in Kazaa." In that case all you have to do is the first three steps. The file will be added to the Traffic window directly and you don't have to restart Kazaa Lite.

here is a simple guide on how post hash:
first of all open k-sig, you can download it separetley or if you have klite its in your "tools" and in your klite folder under program files and you can just make a shortcut from the klite folder, that way you don't have to open klite everytime you want to use k-sig
the path in k-sig is "mycomputer">c:drive>program folder>klite folder>here you the k-sig.exe , right click and choose "send to" then choose "desktop", and you got yourself a shortcut for k-sing
you can download k-sign from hasnain's home page (the maker of it)
from here k-sig now when you open k-sig this is what you see:
now lets say we want to make a hash link for mp3shield, so all you have to do is drag and drop the installer file for mp3shield into k-sig, and it would look like this:
now shield.exe is the installer file for mp3shield, now, lets right click on shield.exe and this is what we see:
now as you can see you can make a sig2dat hash or ed2k hash
for a list of which hash works with which programs go herenow both have 4 different types lets look at
sig2dat
for our purposes we will use the internet hyperlink
so we will click on that option. as soon as we do we comeback to this window:
now even tho you can't tell the hash has been copied to our clipboard, and all we have to do is righ click and choose paste and this is what we would get

In Indigo Prophecy, a paranormal thriller, New York City is stunned by a
series of mysterious murders, all following the same pattern: ordinary
people are killing absolute strangers in public areas. Lucas Kane becomes
another one of these murderers when he suddenly kills a stranger in a men's
bathroom. Covered in blood, Lucas regains consciousness with no recollection
as to why he committed murder. Lucas must solve the mystery before being
incarcerated for life.
A free-flowing game during which players can assume the role of multiple
characters and experience the game from multiple viewpoints, Indigo Prophecy
allows players' actions to affect the plot by offering a scenario driven
interactive experience. Through motion picture techniques, players find
themselves intimately immersed in the game.
